Sunday Morning Volunteers Assist With The Clearing Of The Beryl Burton Cycleway

Philanthropist Gayla LeMaire once said, "Volunteers are paid in six figures... S-M-I-L-E-S." On the morning of June 29, 2025, our team of volunteers received their six-figure payment from the numerous cyclists, runners, and walkers traveling along the Beryl Burton Cycleway. Acknowledging the hard work of our volunteers, these individuals frequently shared a smile and words of gratitude as they passed.

By working in teams, the volunteers successfully cleared most of the cycleway from the junction with Bilton Hall Drive to the first gate. Their tasks included removing the leaf mold that had built up along the cycleway's edges and trimming the vegetation on the borders. The collected leaf mold will be utilized for future planting projects.

We extend our gratitude to our team of volunteers, whose clearing efforts have added another foot of usable width to the cycleway, facilitating easier passage for opposing traffic.

Keep close to the land.
