A small group of stalwart volunteers turned out on two wet and dreary days over the last two weekends to lay a hedge on the field which borders on to Bilton Hall Drive and Bilton Lane.
They were restoring a neglected and dying hedgerow, which had become overgrown and turned into a row of trees rather than a hedge. One of the issues this causes is that the hedge no longer acts as a boundary, and as we have been informed of people riding motorcycles in this field, we wanted to restore the boundary.
This involved taking out some overhanging tree branches, beating back brambles and laying hedgerow as you can see from the photos.
There will be gapping up, bindings and fencing to do next!
If you are interested in volunteering to work on KFP, you can fill in this Volunteer Registration Form - you will then be added to the list of people we notify when there are working parties planned.
