Ceilidh 2026!

We were delighted at the support for another ceilidh this year, with participants old and young obviously having a great time. The caller of the band even commended them, not only on their enthusiasm but also for following her instructions so obediently! We must say that they look as if they know what they are doing here:

We are hugely grateful to the Dark Horse Ceilidh Band for offering their time and skills free of charge, (particularly violinist Amy, a Long Lands shareholder, who stepped in at the last moment) - obviously the event could not happen without them!

St Andrew's Church in Starbeck also waived their venue hire - as an eco-church, they explained that they can't give us funds but can support us in ways such as this. We think it is a wonderfully atmospheric place to hold a ceilidh, so we are very grateful. We would also like to thank Fodder and Mother Shipton's Cave for their generous donation of vouchers for the raffle, and all the volunteers who gave up their time and energy to make it a success.

The event raised £1400 for projects on the Long Lands Community sites. Look out for Ceilidh 2027!

Keep close to the land.
