About the Event
You are invited to a guided walk around Knaresborough Forest Park to show you around the site, before our Celebration Event. There is no charge for this walk.
Meet at 10:30am at the Nidd Gorge Map by the river (just along the Ringway footpath from High Bridge, on the other side of the river from Conyngham Hall car park, opposite the Ugly Duckling café – if you use What 3 Words, it’s ///impulsive.hairpin.struts).
If coming by bus from Harrogate, you will need to get off at the bus stop opposite Mother Shipton's, just before you go over the bridge over the Nidd, then turn immediately left and walk about 20 yards along the river - the meeting point is by the map.
If coming by bus from Knaresborough, you will need to get off at the bus stop at Mother Shipton's, just after you go over the bridge over the Nidd, then cross the road and walk about 20 yards along the river - the meeting point is by the map.
You will be met by members of the team who will lead you up the Beryl Burton Cycleway and round KFP, ending up at the farm buildings where our celebration event will take place.
The walk is about two miles and will take about one and a half hours. (For participants who would have difficulty with the terrain, at the point where the group takes a footpath over uneven and possibly muddy ground, there will be an option to continue along Bilton Hall Drive and down the pavement bordering the A59 to rejoin the group at the farm buildings.)
Please wear appropriate footwear as it could well be muddy. Dogs are welcome on a short lead.
We will be taking photos - could you please notify one of the team on the day if you would not like your photo taken and used in our blog or social media posts.
If the weather is bad, the walk will not go ahead – please make your own decision on the day, but if it is cancelled, we will put a note on the website and send a notification to people who have signed up for it.
The CELEBRATION EVENT (see separate event post) starts at 12 noon at the farm buildings - you are invited to bring your own picnic, drinks and rug, and stay to help us celebrate the fact that Knaresborough Forest Park is now debt-free! However, if you can't stay for this, after the walk you can make your way back down to the river.
